WAIKIKI INFORMATION & TERMS

  1. CHECK IN
    Upon arrival we ask you to complete our registration form with your personal information along with your balance payment & outstanding taxes. From this moment on every extra service within the resort can be charged to your room with the final payment being made at the end of your stay. All items should be signed for daily with the Cocojambo Cashier. Upon Check out the final payment can be paid in cash…(US Dollars,Euro or Tanzanian Shillings). We also accept Visa & Mastercard with a 6% Surcharge.

  2. RESORT, LOCATION, BEACH AND TIDE
    Waikiki is a small 3* resort located on one of the most beautiful and characteristic beaches on the island. The area .in fact is called ‘Pwani Mchangani”… It literally means beautiful beach in the Swahili language. We are on the North East coast between Kiwengwa and Matemwe. We see the beautiful sun rise every day and then it sets behind us on the West coast. The East coast of Zanzibar experiences the phenomenon of daily high and low tides. Bathing is possible in front of Waikiki during low tide as a small sandbank and lagoon is created in front of the resort. The sun beds and umbrellas are available to guests staying in the resort. Sun bed mattresses will always be available every day from 8am – 6pm. Zanzibar is often subject to power cuts. Waikiki has a generator that can provide electricity for the whole hotel for a limited amount of time. We inform all guests that if the power cut lasts for more than 5 hours we will suspend use of the generator for 2 hours before continuing with this service.

  3. ROOMS AND CLEANING
    Our house-keeping service visit the rooms daily. We kindly ask you to keep the room doors closed during sunset to avoid mosquitoes inside the room. Mpsquito spray is available upon request if needed from the reception. Hot water is available daily from 4pm onwards. This is due to a sometimes unstable electric current. Please un-plug all personal electric items once charged. Changes of bed linen are made every check in and every 3 days after. White towels on request every day. Blue beach towels are changed weekly or upon request. Please contact our Reception if you require a change before this time. Water is precious. Please help us to conserve where possible.. All valuable items should be stored inside the safebox provided. Waikiki management does not accept any responsibility for loss/damaged items not stored properly inside the safe box.

  4. RESTAURANT MENU & WORKING HOURS
    Our main restaurant directly overlooks the Indian Ocean with a breath taking view. We provide an A la Carte breakfast menu from 8am-10.30am daily. A la Carte or Chefs daily special from Lunch- 12pm-2.30pm. Dinner Menu from 7.30pm-9.30pm. Our Chef’s Daily set menu provides a Starter,Main course and fruit choice. Twice weekly we provide an authentic local buffet for all guests.Your orders will be taken after breakfast by our maitre at the Main Restaurant. Please let us know if you would like to join the Menu. Portion sizes are controlled to avoid waste. Larger portions available upon request at no extra cost. Please let us know if you are hungry An excellent selection of Wines,Spirits and beers are available from our Coco Jambo beach bar. Please inform management of any allergies/dietary problems and we will do our best to honour your requests. Early breakfast available upon request for all guests partaking in excursions/diving. Please contact the Reception the day before to confirm this. Coco Jambo Beach Bar is open daily from 10am-11 pm. Join us here for some yummy cocktails. Happy hour every evening from 5pm-7pm. Selected drinks buy 1 and get 1 free every day. Special Seafood and Meat menu’s require 24hour notice. Book your specials directly at Coco Jambo. Try our real Italian pizza whilst gazing at the Indian Ocean on the Beach front. We have become one of the most famous Pizza restaurants the North East coast. Pizzeria open daily from 11.30am-10pm. Guests on the full or half board meal plans can exchange their lunch or dinner for a Margherita pizza…..any extra toppings will be charged extra. Every Friday Waikiki hosts the most famous party in the bay.Our guests have the advantage of buying all drinks at the normal in House price. Party time 10.30pm-2.30am. All music can be heard from the Guestrooms.

  5. CHECK OUT PROCEDURE AND OTHER SERVICES
    Check out will always be carried out at the Reception by 10.30am on the day of check out or from 7pm-8pm the night before in the case of early check out the next morning. Any extras taken after this time can be paid directly at the bar. Please return your room key to the reception when leaving the resort. Any damage or loss of materials will be subject to charge directly by the hotel management. Excursions, Kite surfing and diving are available although not offered directly by Waikiki Resort. Laundry an additional service available upon request with additional payment. Available every day of the week through completion of a simple form .Items will be returned within 48hours. Management does not accept responsibility for any items lost or damaged. Delicate or valuable items will not be accepted. A small selection of items are available for sale at the reception….A small range of suncreens, bodywash, toothpaste etc…… For Massage,Hair braiding and tatoo please contact the reception. Wifi internet- Waikiki provides free Wi-Fi internet to all our guests. Please contact the reception for the QR code. Please note we are not responsible for service problems from the provider.

  6. SAFETY PROCEDURES
    Please remember not leave any personal objects unattended and close all doors and windows when leaving your rooms. Waikiki has a 24hr security service. In case of any emergency please contact the following numbers.
